Two dedicated members of the Salvation Army helped to raise more than �70 for homeless people.
Duncan Guyatt and Keith Starling from the Romford Salvation Army raised the funds after taking part in a bucket collection in Romford High Street recently.
Major David Evans, from the Romford Salvation Army said: “Sadly the number of homeless people is growing and it doesn’t look like the problem is going to go away so their collection helped to raise funds and to highlight the problem.”
The Salvation Army runs one of the biggest homeless programmes in the country and it provides soup kitchens, breakfast clubs and activities and programmes to meet the needs of homeless people.
Every Salvation Army has to raise funds towards the project.
The money raised from the day was used to go towards the funds for the Romford branch.
David said: “Duncan is very dedicated.
“He came up with the idea of the bucket collection and it went very well.”
