Storm Doris has already taken effect in the borough after winds brought down a massive tree in a busy road.
The tree pictured is in Upper Brentwood Road, Gidea Park, but fortunately there are no reports of injuries.
Road users should avoid the area as the debris is cleared by workers.
There are severe weather warnings across the country today with an amber warning of wind for Greater London areas.
Very strong winds are expected throughout the day with speeds expected to reach 60-70mph.
While the strongest winds look to be only short-lived, damage to structures and widespread disruption to travel networks are likely.
