PUBLISHED: 13:47 28 March 2014 | UPDATED: 16:21 01 April 2014

Up to 16 mobile homes were moved onto Ingrebourne Hill by travellers on Friday.

The vehicles were spotted moving onto the land in Rainham Road, Hornchurch on Friday morning.

They have since been served with an eviction notice by the landowner, Ingrebourne Valley limited, backed by the Forestry Commission.

Around 6 of the vehicles left after being served the notice but a further 10 or so remain.

Ingrebourne Valley limited have indicated that if the remaining vehicles do not leave the site they will seek a court order to have them removed.

Parks across Havering are now on alert in case other sites are targeted.

Cllr Jeffrey Tucker, member for Rainham and Wennington said: “That area is beautiful and we need to maintain that appearance. This needs to be adressed.”
