An overturned lorry on the A12 is likely to cause travel woe for Havering commuters tonight.
The southbound lane, at the Brookstreet roundabout, is completely closed and is likely to be for “some time”, Havering Police said, after the red Mercedes HGV jack-knifed at around 11.20am this morning.
The driver was taken to Queen’s Hospital, in Rom Valley Way, Romford, with minor injuries.
All 498 Brentw’d to Romford service buses are being diverted.
Leaking motor fluid is the main cause for concern, police added, and clean-up work is underway but it is not known yet what the lorry was carrying or whether its load was spilled.
