Metro services have been cancelled between Shenfield and Liverpool Street affecting customers travelling through Romford and Ilford.
The 6.40am train service from Liverpool Street to Shenfield and the 7.34am service from Shenfield to Liverpool Street have been cancelled.
Operator Greater Anglia has said the cancellations were caused by a train fault.
At 8.35am Greater Anglia tweeted that delays of five to eight minutes are affecting the service.
