A breakdown of all the deals in London on January 31 from Premier League downwards

With the drama, excitement and frustrations of transfer deadline day finishing until August 31, look back on our live blog from the day’s events and see where it all went right / wrong for your club.

** 23:30pm: Right, let’s put an end to frantic days of news, rumours, conjecture and outright lies (from other people). It’s been an interesting, but draining, 14 and a half hours since we started it off you this morning. Thanks for all the tweets and e-mails throughout the day. Follow us individually on twitter at @IainLiddle, @DiddlyDoine and @J_S_RIchards. Also, if you’re not already, check out @ELA_Hammers and @Post_Daggers for regular football news.

** 23.25pm: The main news again - Liverpool sold Torres, but bought Suarez and Carroll. They had a bid rejected for Charlie Adam, as did Spurs (see 16.05 update) who is staying at Blackpool. David Luiz also went to Chelsea for a lot of money. Arsenal were quiet, Spurs failed in a bid for Phil Neville, Orient signed Jason Crowe and Daggers missed out on Romain Jacuzzi.

** 23.05pm Spurs last-gasp bid for Charlie Adam was rejected by Blackpool. Tottenham offered more than the 6million Liverpool offered, but it was still not enough.

** 23:00pm: Well, it’s officially over, but some deals could still be announced as we’ve all seen before. Sky Sports News are reporting that Spurs are trying to sign Charlie Adam at the last moment. Will the madness never end?

**22.29 Fulham secure loan deal for Eidur Gudjohnsen, who will be at the Cottage at least until the end of the season.

** 22.19pm. Giovani Dos Santos of Spurs has joined Racing Santander on loan until the end of the season.

** 22:15pm: TOTTENHAM FANS - look here. We realise time is running out to do this kind of deal, but the information comes from someone with very good knowledge of everything going on at White Hart Lane. Harry Redknapp has said on Sky Sports News this evening that only Phil Neville was a possibility this evening and that has since been rejected by Everton. However, we understand that even as we speak, the club are still trying to push through a sensational last-minute 30m deal for Villarreal’s Italy international Guiseppe Rossi. If anyone can pull off a deal like this at the 11th hour (literally) it’s Spurs. We’re not guaranteeing it will happen, but we’re pretty sure intensive efforts are being made. Remember what happened with Rafa van der Vaart in August...

** 21:48pm: Interesting note for the Victoria Road faithful. Former Daggers correspondent Mike Simmonds, now of the Luton News, reporting that Kevin Gallen has been released by the Hatters today. John Still was very keen on signing him in August and free transfers can be completed after today’s deadline. One to watch...

** 21:32pm: Oh my... we’ve just received word of a potentially huge bit of business left to be done by Tottenham Hotspur. Harry Redknapp just said on Sky Sports News not to expect any arrivals bar maybe Phil Neville. Maybe he wasn’t telling the whole truth. This isn’t a cheap attempt to get hits. This comes from a top source. More details to follow when we’ve double checked the info. Speculate away!

** 21:22pm: Apparently Liverpool are flying Luis Suarez to Luton Airport tonight. Just as well the deal is already finalised, because that’s a sure way to jeopardise it if not.

** 21:20pm: News relevant to Dagenham & Redbridge fans - Brentford have signed Owain Tudur Jones from Norwich City on loan until the end of the season. He played against Daggers for Yeovil earlier this year and had a bit of a ‘mare.

** 21.11pm Carlton Cole makes thing pretty clear. ‘I AM NOT LEAVING WEST HAM UNITED!!!’ he said on his twitter page. Meanwhile Stoke’s Eidur Gudjohnsen has completed a medical ahead of a loan move to Fulham.

** 21:00pm: Chelsea fans, Daniel Sturridge has officially completed his move to Bolton Wanderers on loan. I thought that was made official about 12 hours, but it’s easy to lose track of time (and your sanity) when you’re looking at yellow tickers and updated twitters all day.

** 20.40pm: Harry Redknapp just delivered a gem of interview to the Sky Sports News man on the scene. Said the only possible movement tonight was Phil Neville coming in and even that was a long shot. Categorically denied that Peter Crouch would be allowed to join Newcastle to replace Carroll. Never say never with Spurs though...

** 20.23pm Reports circulating that Benfica are having second thoughts on selling David Luiz to Chelsea. Benfica said to be assessing their options.

** 19.30pm Paul McCallum deal confirmed by West Ham. “It feels unreal. I feel like I am dreaming. I am expecting to wake up any minute. I am honoured to sign for West Ham and I feel great,” he said.

** 19.03pm: Still awaiting official confirmation regarding McCallum’s move to West Ham. Likely to go through still.

** 18:40pm: As we move into the final hours, Fernando Torres is very nearly a Chelsea player, with the blues finally reported to have agreed a fee with Liverpool and Torres may be joined at Stamford Bridge by defender David Luiz, with Nemanja Matic rumoured to be heading to Benfica in a player-plus-cash deal.

** 18:15pm: We gather that the John Still’s programme notes for tomorrow night’s game have been printed and there are no mentions of any ins or outs. We’re not having much luck getting in touch with people at the club though at the moment. That could mean they are busy or simply they’ve gone home already. Daggers fans - is no news good news, or bad news from your point of view?

** 17.55pm: Dagenham & Redbridge striker Marvin Morgan had the following to say about the Andy Carroll transfer-to-be: “Andy Carroll played in championship last season. What a move!! There’s NO loyalty in football mate!! Get over it....... Haha”

** 17:50pm: It seems the day’s biggest saga is nearly at an end, with Liverpool confirming they have agreed a fee for Andy Carroll, reportedly in the region of 35m. So that’s Carroll and Aguero definitely not headed to White Hart Lane then. Other journalists are also claiming Blackpool’s Charlie Adam is on his way to Anfield as well. Do two players who were in the Championship last year make up for the loss of a World Cup winner in Fernando Torres?

**17.15pm: Rumours had circulated that Carlton Cole was off to Newcastle. He is not. Cole just posted on twitter: ‘Im @ home chillin with my feet up watching conan da barbarian! So no, im not in a helicopter goin anywhere! Im scared of heights’. Fair enough. Not sure if we will find out whether he is watching the original or not...

** 16.45pm: Meanwhile, Sky Sports insist that Newcastle have agreed to sell Andy Carroll to Newcastle, despite other reports to the contrary. If the move went through, would he have to find a new team-mate to live with rather than Kevin Nolan? Maybe Sotirios Kyrgiakos as they could share hair products and tips. Any other suggestions - tweet in!

** 16.40pm: Dagenham & Redbridge captain Mark Arber on Twitter. “RT m77arb: All the Transfer window has become is a sellers market. Club came in for me for balls, bibs, and cones. Now they have chucked in a kit too.”

** 16:05pm: Former Tottenham winger Andy Reid has signed for Blackpool from Sunderland, so does this mean Charlie Adam will finally get the move he has been craving? SkyBet have cut the odds of him moving to Manchester United to 1/4. Hard to read anything into that though. He seems exactly the sort of person Spurs would panickedly buy at five minutes to deadline. Meanwhile, Chelsea youngster Jacob Mellis has signed for Barnsley on loan.

** 15:40pm: Dagenham & Redbridge fan Ian Pearce has tweeted @Post_Daggers with his take on the potential 35m transfer of Andy Carroll: “Absolutely absurd to be honest, we don’t even have a bag full of shiny coins to rub together and people are paying that out?”

** 15:17pm: As Fernando Torres’ transfer to Chelsea edges every closer, it seems Liverpool will replace him with Andy Carroll. The reds have reportedly agreed a 35m fee with Newcastle for the England hitman, so that’s another name for Spurs fans to cross off their wish list.

** 15.14pm: West Ham are hopeful striker Frank Nouble will join Championship side Barnsley on loan.

** 14.45pm: West Ham want to hold on to Danny Gabbidon. The Wales international has been linked with Rangers and Celtic, but a source at the club has said they wish to keep him at Upton Park.

** 14.40pm: Leyton Orient boss Russell Slade told us earlier he was after a defender and, only a few hours later, he has got his man. Jason Crowe, 32, has arrived in East London on a short-term deal until the end of the season after having contract cancelled at Leeds United. The former Arsenal trainee could go into the squad for tomorrow night’s game against Brighton & Hove Albion.

** 14.23pm: Arsenal defender Gavin Hoyte has extended his loan at resurgent Lincoln City in League Two until the end of the season.

** 14.10pm: Fernando Torres is apparently en route to London, presumably to Stamford Bridge.

** 14.07pm: Dulwich Hamlets striker Paul McCallum is West Ham’s first signing this afternoon, for a nominal fee. More news later on other targets. The Hammers fought off strong competition for his signature with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manhcester United all having made enquiries to the South London club.

** 14.04pm: Jay Bothroyd has confirmed he will not be joining West Ham this transfer window.

** 13.45pm: Reports are circulating that Jay Bothroyd is heading to Chadwell Heath for a medical at West Ham ahead of a move. If it does go through, West Ham will have 10 strikers to choose from for the trip to Blackpool.

** 13.38pm: Anderlecht defensive midfielder Lucas Biglia has been linked with a move to West Ham. The 25-year-old is much coverted in Spain, but with Jack Collison and Thomas Hitzlsperger are not too far away from a return to the first team. A move for Biglia seems unlikely.

** 13.32pm: Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma will not be going to West Brom according to his agent.

** 13.31pm: Spurs’ hopes of bringing Sergio Aguero to White Hart Lane are over after the Argentinian signed a new contract with Athletico Madrid. “I’m staying here because I want to,” he said. Can’t argue with that!

** 13.30pm: LEYTON ORIENT manager Russell Slade on transfers: “We’re working hard to bring in a senior player to help us cope with the upcoming fixture schedule.” Leyton Orient correspondent Trevor Davies believes the O’s boss is targeting a defender. Meanwhile Newcastle Benfield striker John Cambell, once linked with Slade’s side has signed for Blue Square Premier side Darlington.

** 13.15pm: Reaction from West Ham fans on Twitter to the link with Tal Ben Haim and it’s not overly positive.

Paul Jarman: “I’m not a great fan of Ben Haim to be honest, I didnt think he did much when he was on loan, he’s not good enough in my opinion.” and Craven Moorhead: “I’m in pompey with work this week, so may block Ben Haim from travelling so he can’t make the trip in time!!”.

** 13.00pm: TEN HOURS TO GO. Spanish newspaper Marca are reporting that Tottenham have renewed their interest in Diego Forlan. You can’t rule out anything with Spurs. Remember to keep your tweets and e-mails coming in.

** 12.36pm: Fulham midfielder Jonathan Greening is a target for Championship side Hull City, who are hoping to bring in the 32-year-old on loan.

** 12.28pm: If West Ham are to bring in Tal Ben Haim they must free up some squad space. The club are reportedly hopeful to offload, Radoslav Kovac, Herita Ilunga and Danny Gabbidon, whose contract is unlikely to be renewed at the end of the season. The Old Firm and Cardiff are linked.

** 12.25pm: Potentially huge news breaking as Ian Dennis on BBC Five Live reports Fernnando Torres has signed for Chelsea. Not official at this stage though. Also, Reading Director of Football Nick Hammond says they will not allow Shane Long to leave today after West Ham expressed an interest.

** 12.10pm: News relevant to League One sides Charlton Athletic, Leyton Orient, Brentford and Dagenham & Redbridge. Peterborough United have signed goalkeeper Paul Jones on loan from Exeter City until the end of the season. Does this mean a transfer deadline day move for want-away stopper Joe Lewis? Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday have signed their fifth player of the window, with Aston Villa’s Isaiah Osbourne joining on loan until the end of the season.

** 11:54am: Chelsea have made an offical approach to Saint Etienne for French midfielder Dimitri Payet.

** 11.52am: West Ham and Fulham’s hopes of signing Shaun Wright-Phillips on loan appear to have been dealt a blow, with Manchester City only willing to sanction a permanent move for the England winger.

** 11.46am: See what West Ham legend Tony Cottee has to say about the loan signing of Robbie Keane from Spurs here. http://tinyurl.com/45lnrs4

** 11.40am: Tal Ben Haim is a likely target for West Ham today. Was on loan earlier in the season and Portsmouth keen to offload his 35,000 a week wages. Meanwhile, Charlton have signed Federico Bessone on loan from Leeds United for the rest of the season and Arsenal have allowed Gilles Sunu to join Lorient on a similar arrangement.

** 11.15am: News for DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE fans. Amie Hutton tweeted @Post_Daggers asking for a striker, but she may be disappointed. We gather that talks have broken down with French forward Romain Jacuzzi, who has twice been over to Dagenham on trial. The Laval man is extremely unlikely to sign today. More Daggers news to follow throughout the day.

** 11.05am: Reports circulating that Monaco may be tempted to put in an offer for out of favour West Ham full back Herita Ilunga. Hammers would be keen to sell and an offer of 1.5m should be enough to persuade them.

** 10.31am: A bid has been accepted by Liverpool for Fernando Torres. Interestingly we are yet to know how much or who made the bid.

** 10.27am: On twitter, West Ham fans @Coxy25, @30somethinggmr @gerrymcuk and @Grey_fox36 are all desperate for a new defender at Upton Park. Richard Dunne, Christopher Samba all mentioned. Sadly none mentioned are likely....

** 10.05am: Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge is having a medical at Bolton with a view to a loan move. That would seem to rule him out of a player-plus-cash deal for Fernando Torres.

** 09.42am: Tottenham seem determined to smash their transfer record today. As the search for a striker continues Harry Redknapp’s side have reportedly had big money bids turned down for Aguero, Rossi, Llorente and Negredo.

Mario Gomez is another name in the frame, while capturing a holding midfield player also seems to be on the agenda, but will they be able to persuade Scott Parker or Phil Neville to move to White Hart Lane?
