Train services running through Brentwood may be cancelled or delayed by up to 40 minutes after a passenger was taken ill.
Greater Anglia, which operated the service, said trains could be delayed at short notice and disruption is expected until about 12.30pm.
Disruption was caused this morning after a signal problem at Ipswich.
