Three schools and nurseries in Brentwood are amongst the most outstanding in the country.
Ofsted has ranked how good the provision is at educational establishments and listed them in their Outstanding Providers 2011-12 list this week.
It includes 74 providers in Essex from early years providers, maintained schools, independent schools, colleges and providers of work-based learning, adult education and children’s social care.
In Brentwood they include Roundwood Pre-School and Phoenix Day Nursery, both in Brentwood; and Ingatestone Infant School.
Cllr Stephen Castle, cabinet member for education and lifelong learning at Essex County Council, said: “The significant number of outstanding providers in Essex reflects the excellent education practice there is across the county and is testament to the hard work and dedication of teachers and staff up and down the county.”
