Marshalls Park pupil Thomas Hughes is celebrating after achieving the Romford school’s top GCSE result.
Thomas, of Stanley Avenue, Gidea Park, scored highly with five A* grades, three As and a B – plus an A in AS level drama and a pass at AS level maths.
“I’m just more relieved than anything,” he grinned. “I tried not to think about it too much but I’ve worried all the way through the summer. I’m happy to have got into Coopers’ Company and Coborn School.”
The 16-year-old will be studying maths, economics, geography and PE at the Upminster-based academy.
