Thieves break into 90-year-old's home and steal Second World War medals belonging to his father

Thieves broke into a 90-year-olds home and stole Second World War medals belonging to his late father.

Suspects gained entry to the property in Ardleigh Green Road via the back doors and searched the house before stealing cash, jewellery and two medals.

Police were called to reports of a burglary on Friday, October 26 at 2.11pm.

The medals awarded to the 90-year-old’s late father, are the Defence Service Medal and the General Service Medal.

Police said that the elderly man was not at home at the time of the burglary.

There have been no arrests.
