Thieves stole £700 worth of stock from a charity shop, including three bikes and a DVD player.
The stock was stolen from Richard House Children’s Hospice shop, in Victoria Road, Romford, on Thursday, March 14, at about 12.15am. Police believe a white man got into the shop through two outbuildings at the back of the shop.
Mandy Sell, manager of the shop, said: “We are extremely disappointed and upset about the break-in at our Romford Shop. Any burglary is distressing, but it has come as a shock to both myself and the hardworking volunteers here that anyone would ransack a charity shop.
“They stole about £700 in stock and this is a serious loss to not only the shop, but of course Richard House Children’s Hospice as a charity.
“If anyone can donate items to help us replace the missing contents we would be especially grateful for the support at this difficult time.”
