A THREE-YEAR-OLD girl was the target of a thief in Ham Park Road, Stratford.
The girl had just left her grandmother's home with her mother.
As they left, the older woman called out to the girl to get something from the shops.
The girl turned back and came back out with some money.
As she did so the thief grabbed the money and ran off. The toddler was not injured.
She is described as aged about 20, Asian, 5ft, and wore a grey hooded top.
Her hair was piled on top of her head, according to police, "like a pineapple".
Newham crime prevention officer Pc Keith Melhuish said: "Here's a thief who doesn't care who she steals from. Let's hope the three-year-old is not too upset by this incident.
