An exhibition of art inspired by the beauty of a community forest has been unveiled.

Thames Chase Trust’s art and sculpture exhibition presents the work of 25 artists on the theme of “local inspiration”.

Presented in the historic buildings at the Forest Centre, Pike Lane, Upminster, it will run until Monday, August 28 between 10am and 4pm.

A spokeswoman said: “All the art is for sale as well as to be admired.

“Also, fulfilling the trust’s ambition to inspire, additional craftsmen will join the artists in demonstrating the wealth of talent to be found in our local communities as they display such skills and techniques as marquetry, ceramics, stained glass, wood carving and origami in the 17th century barn.”

One of the artists, Adrian Dutton, will lead free painting sessions for budding artists on Saturday, August 26.

Admission to the exhibition is free.
