TfL tube station zone reshuffle charges commuters based on direction of travel

Commuters travelling from Romford through Stratford are to be charged different amounts according to which direction they are travelling from January 2.
The change follows TfL’s decision to rezone several stations around Stratford from zone three to zones two-to-three.
If travelling from zone six to Stratford, the charge will be a zone three-six fare, if travelling from zone one to Stratford, a zone one-to-two fare will be charged.
A spokesman for TfL said it was hoped 100,000 people per week would benefit from the change.
Eight stations in total, across the tube, rail and DLR network are affected, these include Stratford, West Ham, Canning Town and Star Lane.
