Tesco workers helped to spruce up Gallows Corner in run up to Diamond Jubilee celebrations

While everyone was out preparing for their street parties in the run up to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations hard working staff at Tesco took to the streets to take part in a litter pick.
The workers from the Tesco store in Bryant Avenue, Gallows Corner joined forces with staff from the McDonald’s restaurant in Bryant Avenue, Gallows Corner and Councillor Pam Light (Con,Harold Wood) to make sure that Havering was looking its best for the weekend.
Clover Deacon, community champion at Tesco said: “Seeing us all work together gave me a great sense of pride and community spirit.
“It’s great to see that businesses and the community can all work together.”
The 15 workers collected ten black bags full of rubbish during the hour and a half litter pick.
Called Spring Clean for the Queen, the nationwide campaign saw an army of volunteers pulling together to make sure the country looked its best for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend.
