Firefighters spent more than nine hours tackling a fire at a landfill site in Rainham.
Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters responded to reports of the fire at 1.55pm on Sunday, June 24 at the landfill site in Coldharbour Lane.
Two hectares of land was damaged by the fire and by 11.50pm in the evening the fire was under control.
Fire crews from Wennington, Romford, Hornchurch, Barking and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
