Team GP table tennis Olympian Darius Knight paid visit to primary school pupils with inspiring words.

The professional ping pong player, who took part in the London 2012 games, gave an inspirational talk about his experience as an athlete to pupils at the Squirrels Heath Junior school, Salisbury Road, Gidea Park, on Monday.

Headteacher Mary Shipton said: “The children have been learning about Olympic values and Darius Knight spent the day at the school to talk about how sport changed his life.

“He talked about perseverance and how he hasn’t always been successful the first time. An important message for children to take away not only in sports but in everything they do.”
