The MET office has issued a severe weather warning as strong winds and rain threaten to cause disruption across the capital.
Gusts of 40-50 miles an hour accompanied by heavy rain are expected this evening. Winds are not expected to ease until tomorrow evening.
The office has warned the public that the unseasonable weather could cause disruption to transport and outdoor activities.
It is has issued the yellow warning – its third highest – across much of England and Scotland.
