Talented young cricketers from across east London will be descending on Ilford next week as the second Annual Youth Cricket Festival kicks off.
The festival, which will take place from August 14 until August 22 at Ilford Cricket Club’s Valentines Park home, will see three matches played each day.
Each fixture will include a third umpire to allow for reviews, LED stumps that light up when struck and a coloured ball.
All the pitches will be floodlit and play is scheduled to last from 10am to 10pm.
A festival spokesman said: “This event and its facilities will be something England has not witnessed or seen for kids, especially in east London, with fun excitement, snacks, stalls, and broadcasted live worldwide.”
Special guests throughout the nine days will include Pakistan team captain Sarfraz Ahmed, who led his nation to Champions Trophy victory earlier this year, England bowling legend Monty Panesar and popstar Abrar Ul Haq.
