Students and staff at Havering College of Further and Higher Education went fundraising mad for Children In Need.

The college held a number of fundraising events in aid of the BBC’s annual appeal last Friday.

Greggs the bakers and Pudsey Bear spent a day at the Ardleigh Green Campus selling Children in Need themed biscuits and cakes.

The giant cuddly bear also spent time with some of his biggest fans – babies and toddlers at the Havering College Stepping Stones Day Nursery.

Students at the Havering College Quarles Campus in Harold Hill organised competitions, ran a stall, offered nail painting and dressed in their pyjamas to raise cash.

The Sports department ran a ‘Beat the Goalie’ contest with goalkeepers from the Romford Football Academy course guarding against the penalty attempts.

Havering College head of student services Margo Lindsay said: “Everyone who has taken part in Children in Need has been having fun and, most importantly, raising money for a good cause.”
