Friday the 13th proved to be lucky for pupils at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, in Hornchurch, who got their hands on the Olympic torch.

The torch’s arrival at the Hornchurch Road school marked the end of an Olympic themed week where pupils performed opening and closing ceremonies featuring a Follow the Flame Olympic dance and a Going for Gold production by Year 6 pupils.
