St Francis Hospice is encouraging people to think about making a will.

The hospice, based in Havering-atte-Bower is holding Make a Will Fortnight from March 4 to March 15.

During the fortnight, residents will get the chance to make or update their will whilst raising funds for patient care.

You can book an appointment to see a participating solicitor, who are all donating their time and expertise for free and instead of charging the normal fee of between £100 and £130, they are asking people to make a donation to the hospice.

Last year £10,000 was raised through the campaign.

Susan Spencer, hospice In Memoriam and legacy executive said: “If you don’t currently have a will or it needs updating, please think about writing one and supporting the hospice in the process and also spread the word to relatives and friends.

“Your will let you decide what happens to your money, property and possessions after your death.

“Without one, the law decides who gets what and your family could be left with bills to pay.”
