It isn’t quite a “Nightmare before Christmas” but Marks and Spencer customers are being left in a fowl mood after queuing over an hour in Station Road.

The Christmas Eve shoppers are feeling stuffed after turning up to the store to collect their pre-ordered goods, only to wait for over an hour.

Shoppers had ordered their Christmas turkeys online and had been given half an hour slots within which to collect them.

But when they came to the store today, they have been driven crackers upon seeing the long queues.

At 9:48am, Janice Mills tweeted: “M&S Upminster - complete chaos queuing for Turkey orders. Never again! Outside for an hour! Murder inside!”

An hour and a half later, Nick Ely tweeted: “profits warning? They must be doing something right! Busiest shop in Upminster!”

The Recorder has contacted M&S for comment.
