A woman has been hit by a bus outside Romford station, this morning.

The Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to South Street (today), Thursday, February 1 following reports of a collision.

South Street was closed in both directions with buses on diversion.

A police spokesman said: “The incident happened about 10.30am this morning.

“There was a collision between a pedestrian and a bus.

“There is a road closure in place and inquiries are ongoing.”

A LAS spokesman said: “We sent a single responder in a car and an ambulance crew.

“The first crew arrived on scene in under three minutes.

“We treated a woman at the scene for leg and arm injuries and took her as a priority to a major trauma centre.”
