The A127 Ardleigh Green Bridge was reduced to a single lane carriageway in both directions on Monday as work to replace it continues.

As part of TfL’s Road Modernisation Plan, about £32million has been invested into replacing the 90-year-old bridge with restrictions in place until November 15 while the central barrier is removed.

But residents have expressed their frustration with the temporary work on social media forum Streetlife describing it as “chaos” as drivers are left to sit in queues of traffic.
