Those with the latest electrical products on their Christmas lists could do worse than signing up to play the weekly St Francis Hospice lottery.

And it’s now even easier to get involved, with ambassadors for the Havering-atte-Bower charity signing people up in Romford’s The Brewery shopping centre every Friday between now and Christmas.

This year’s festive draw will take place on Friday, December 28, and will see a host of extra prizes up for grabs that could provide you with a New Year’s boost – an iPad3, a 42 inch LG LCD HD TV, and 300 in John Lewis vouchers.

These goodies will join the lottery’s regular first prize of 1,000, the rollover 500 second prize, which currently stands at 4,000, and 10 third prizes of 10. These cash prizes can be won each week by playing the lottery so there’s no need to wait until Christmas.

St Francis Hospice launched its weekly lottery in October 2011, and celebrated its first anniversary last month by giving away two first prizes. The lottery is intended to make 1million in its first four years, all of which will go toward the hospice’s work with people affected by life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart or lung disease, motor neurone disease, HIV and AIDS.

The hospice, which employs 150 staff and works with 800 volunteers, cares for more than 3,000 people in Havering and the surrounding boroughs, and provides all its services free.

You can sign up to the lottery by approaching one of the St Francis ambassadors at the stall in the Brewery.

They will have leaflets and collection tins and will be wearing distinctive orange fleeces.

You can also register by visiting www.sfh.org.uk, or calling the hospice on 01708 771 433.

You can play using up to 20 numbers each week, and you can pay by direct debit.
