A queue of doughnut-lovers formed in The Liberty shopping centre as Krispy Kreme opened its newest kiosk-style store.
Shoppers were delighted to see the latest addition to the shopping centre officially open this morning, which sells mouth-watering treats from the classic glazed doughnut to the Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme.
As the first customer in line, 24-year-old Alex Alves from Romford - who had been waiting since 6am - won a coveted Krispy Kreme gold card.
He said: “As soon as I heard that there was a Krispy Kreme opening in the area I knew I wanted to be the first in line, to get my hands on a gold card.
“I can’t wait to see how popular I am when I pick up my first double dozen, the early wake-up was totally worth it!”
Not only did Alex pick up the delicious prize, but goody bags were also dished out to the first dozen people in the queue, as well as lots of fun activities and spot prizes to customers throughout the day.
Operations director at Krispy Kreme Alex Drysdale said: “Thank you to everybody who came down to our sweet opening today at the Liberty Shopping Centre. Our Romford fans didn’t disappoint!”
