There are long tailbacks in the A13 following a three car collision at the Marsh Way junction, in Dagenham.
Emergency services were called at 4.58pm after the crash, which left one of the vehicles on its side.
London Ambulance Service attended and helped two women who reportedly had injuries to their arms.
The road is still completely blocked eastbound, with queues in 30 degree heat back to the Blackwall Tunnel.
