Sea cadet Nikolas Baker receives The Mayor's Award 2015

A sea cadet who has represented London on the Area Navy Cadet Board has received the Mayor’s Award 2015.

Mayor of Havering, Cllr Brian Eagling, presented Nikolas Baker, of Hornchurch and Upminster Sea Cadets, with the award at a ceremony last week.

Nikolas, 17, of Collier Row, has just returned from Japan, where he was one of a small delegation representing the British Sea Cadets.

As well as working closely with his Japanese counterparts, and being given a tour of Japanese Navy ships, he had the honour of being presented to Her Royal Highness, Princess Akishino.

Cllr Eagling said: “Nikolas is a worthy winner who has earned this recognition with his work for the community.”
