Got the flu? Your family might be sick of hearing about your ailments – but a group of scientists can’t wait for you to get in touch.

Havering was among the first places in the country to get the flu vaccine rolled out across primary schools. Now the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and British Science Association want to know whether it’s made a difference.

Whether you’ve been ill or stayed virus-free, they’re asking you to visit flusurvey.org.uk and fill in a short survey each week about you and your family’s health.

Schools can also take part by signing up at the same address, which will give teachers access to the latest findings.

British Science Association CEO Imran Khan said: “UK schoolchildren will be at the forefront of science, helping researchers understand more about flu in a landmark year for study of the virus.
