A schoolgirl was hit by a white van near a Romford school yesterday.

Ambulance services were called to Havering Road, where Bower Park Academy is located, following a collision between a 12-year-old girl and a vehicle.

An eyewitness said: “She came out in front of a bus and the van was overtaking.

“She didn’t stand a chance and nor did the van driver, he couldn’t have stopped.

“I hope they are both ok.”

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: “She was treated for head and leg injuries and taken as a priority to Queen’s Hospital in Romford.”
