Louisa Boulahlib was just 24 when she died unexpectedly in November 2011. Since then her co-workers at Sainsbury’s Hornchurch have been raising money for premature babies’ charity Bliss.

Their latest total – a Christmas auction that netted £1,423 for the cause – brings the amount raised to £16,000.

Bliss was chosen because Louisa had been pregnant when she died.

“She was bubbly and bright,” said store worker Ryan Wyatt, 22. “She just liked to go out and enjoy herself. She had lots of friends.”

Among them was Ryan’s brother and co-worker Michael, who had been engaged to Louisa at the time of the tragedy.

Other fundraisers held for Bliss in Louisa’s memory include a sponsored half-marathon last year.

Ryan added he would remember his colleague and friend for her sense of humour. “She had an infectious laugh,” he said. “You could always hear her.”
