Some parts of Central Park Leisure Centre have been closed after it was found water did not to comply with public health standards.

The leisure centre, in Gooshays Drive, Harold Hill, has closed its health suite, which includes a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room.

A spokesman for Everyone Active, which runs the centre, said: “Our regular monthly tests indicated an imbalance in the water in the health suite so we’ve closed the facility temporarily until our water quality is confirmed to be within industry standards.

“We’re currently waiting on results from further testing and hope to be able to open the facility soon. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank customers for their patience.”

The swimming pool, gym and all other facilities remain open.
