Young women at Sacred Heart School in Upminster are busy planning their futures after achieving excellent grades in their A-levels.

The sixth-form students at Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School St Mary’s Lane, Upminster, are celebrating after achieving an 86 per cent rate of A* to C grades.

More than half of the grades achieved were A* to B grades, which headteacher Kim O’Neill said she was especially delighted by, against the backdrop of significant change to sixth form courses.

She said: “We are thrilled and delighted particularly given the tremendous pressure on staff and pupils this past year with the significant changes to sixth form courses.

“These are challenging times for schools and so we are all the more proud of our results which are testament to the hard work and determination of our teachers and our girls.”
