A Gidea Park school hosted its annual sports awards evening this week with a world champion triathlete and swimmer Dan Bullock.

Sixty pupils from The Royal Liberty School, in Upper Brentwood Road, attended the event on Tuesday to celebrate their achievements over the past year including cross-country running, rugby, athletics and rowing.

It also included a presentation to national and Great Britain Schoolboys Boxing Champion Sonny Ali; county rugby players Calvin Bradley and Alfie Law; and district athletics champions Seb Adams, Ben Blatchford and Harrison Barrett.

The main award of the evening the Jack Chester Sportsman of the Year Award went to Mark De Claro who has shown commitment and dedication to a number of sports this year.
