Football-loving children are celebrating after scoring a lottery grant victory for their sports project.
Havering Council helped the youngsters, aged between eight and 16, from Waterloo Estate, Waterloo Gardens, Romford, apply to the Big Lottery and they have now secured a grant of more than £4,000.
The cash will fund football and other activities on the estate and is enough to pay for football coaching for a year.
Cllr Lesley Kelly, lead member for housing, said: “I am delighted we were able to help youngsters from the Waterloo Estate find funding for this worthwhile football project and for other activities. It will be interesting to see if there is a future football star in their midst.”
