Romford squad tested to limit at Waltham Abbey

For the second weekend in succession Romford boss Paul Martin will be up against it squadwise as they head to unbeaten Waltham Abbey tomorrow.
The Boro chief has to prepare for the trip to the Abbotts minus several players who are out through injury and unavailability.
And though that’s hardly ideal for as they travel to Capershotts, Martin hopes those who fill the breach can make a name for themselves.
“The squad isn’t looking good if I am honest,” said the Boro boss.
“Nathan Cooper isn’t sure if he can get time off work yet and the likes of George Woodward, Jack Barry, Scott Truman and Jamie Dicks could all be out injured so it is good job I’ve got a big squad to choose from.

“Matt Toms is still serving his suspension, but it is up to those lads that do come in to put in a performance and start contesting for the shirt. Young Miguel Lopes Dematos came off the bench on Tuesday night at Harlow and showed a few good glimpses, so he might get his chance on Saturday.”
Waltham Abbey have been recruiting well during the summer and include ex-Boro boy Andy Edmunds among their squad.

It has been a summer of change at Abbey, with a new chairman and playing surface at the notoriously bad Capershotts.
And with all that in mind Martin knows his side are in for a tough test.
“We’ve always had some good, very entertaining
battles with them at their place and hopefully we are on course for another one on Saturday,” he added.
“But it’s all change over there. They have got a new chairman and a brand new pitch and that has helped them attract some good
players as well.
“They’ve started with two wins out of two and looking at them they have got a good chance of going for promotion.”
