Lambretta and Vespa enthusiasts will gather on Sunday to take part in their annual Easter egg collection ride to donate treats to sick children.

Offering an open invitation to other scooter lovers, the members of F.A.B Scooter Club, will meet on Sunday at Queens Theatre, Billet Lane, Hornchurch from 10am before hitting the road.

The group will then ride down country lanes between Ockendon and Brentwood before heading to the Wheatsheaf Pub, Wheatsheaf Road, Romford.

Club president, Gary Thackery said: “We collect Easter eggs to donate to children at Queen’s Hospital.

“We are asking people do dig deep and come down with some goodies.”

At the pub, a raffle will also be held.

“We are giving away West Ham tickets and a subscription to Scooter – a magazine.”

According to Gary the club, which meets at the Wheatsheaf every Monday evening at 8.30pm, has been running for around 15 years.

“If people with scooters want to join in, they’re more than welcome to come along.”

There is no fee to participate but people are asked to either bring an Easter egg or a cash donation to charity.
