Romford rock and mineral show to attract ‘several hundred’

A successful rock and mineral show will return to Romford on Saturday (15), offering the chance for several hundred enthusiasts to get their hands on some unusual items.

Bob Williams, 60, a committee member of the Essex Rock and Mineral Society, which put on the show, hopes to exceed last year’s attendance figures at the North Romford Community Centre, Collier Row.

He said: “We have been running the show for quite some time. Financially and attendance wise we hope to break last year’s record.”

Guest David Bryant, the country’s leading meteorite dealer, will be exhibiting and selling specimens of the Russian meteorite that came down in February last year.

Rock dealers, according to the retried police officer, often comment on how welcome they are made to feel welcome at the event.

The event starts at 10am at the North Romford Community Centre,

Clockhouse Lane, Collier Row, RM5 3QJ.
