Two children taken to hospital after A12 Romford four car crash

There are currently long queues on the A12 Romford near Mawney Road.

Two children have been taken to hospital after a four car crash on the A12 in Romford.

Police and the London Ambulance Service (LAS) were called to the scene around 2.30 this afternoon (Thursday, October 25).

It was confirmed by police that four cars were involved in the crash, and two ambulance crews and an incident response officer were sent to the scene.

The A12 Eastern Avenue West Northbound from Whalebone Lane North (Moby Dick) to Mawney Road is currently closed.

The southbound carriageway re-opened around 3.25 this afternoon.

An LAS spokeswoman said that two people - an adult and a child - were both taken to hospital following the crash.

A Met Police spokeswoman said: Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found four cars had collided.

“Two children were treated at the scene for minor injuries and taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.

“The A12 between Whalebone Lane and Mawney Road remains closed.”
