A makeshift shrine of flowers, toys, messages - and even some of Luke’s favourite food and drink - has been building in Hilldene Avene, Harold Hill, where the teen is thought to have been well known.

Part of one note reads: “We will all miss your cheeky face round here. Love Leah and Joe.”

Luke’s body was found in Broadmead Playing Fields, Woodford Green, with severe head injuries on May 28.

James Danby, 26, Khalid Hassan, 19, Tony O’Toole, 29, Emma Hall, 20, and Jovan Roberts, 27, have been charged with the teenager’s murder and appeared at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

Bail applications on behalf of Hassan and Hall were refused by Judge John Bevan.

Danby, Hassan, O’Toole and Hall also face charges of perverting the course of justice, along with 20-year-old Billy Duggan.

All six will return to court on September 6.
