The aerodrome, in Aveley Road, hosted a Classic Car and Vintage Day on Sunday, featuring live music, dancing, wing walkers and Spitfire displays.

Aerodrome manager, Keith Reynolds, said: “It was a very good day when the sun came out. A bit dull to start with, but it was lovely, very relaxed, everybody was sitting in the sun enjoying themselves eating and drinking.”

The day had a wartime feel with 1940s dancing and military displays.

Musical entertainment was provided by Bretons Entertainers, the Rumblekatz and the Hornchurch Bombers, while Havering Classic Car Club provided a display of vehicles.

It was a free event that provided an open day for an airfield.
