The group was created nine months ago after attendees of the Fun With Photography workshop at the museum, in High Street, Romford, decided to carry on their hobby after the course had ended.

They now meet each month to discuss camera techniques and to compare their own photographs.

Ellen Owen, project manager, praised the skills of the photographers. She said: “This is such a talented group of fun-loving photographers and their photographs are wonderful.

“I would encourage everyone to come and decide for themselves.”

The exhibition, runs until Saturday, September 28 and will showcase the work of 15 members, ranging from retirees to business owners.

Peter Stewart, co-ordinator of the exhibition, said that a love of photography brings the group together each month.

He said: “We’re not competitive at all – we do it for the fun of it.”

The museum is open Wednesday to Saturday, from 11am to 5pm.
