The town’s market place was clad in the flag of England on Saturday to mark St George’s Day, which had fallen on Thursday.

Among the entertainment on offer at the celebration of the country’s patron saint was a bouncy castle, circus performers and face painting.

Performances by The Haverettes girls marching band, Hornchurch Drum and Trumpet Corps and The Royal British Legion Band & Corps of Drums Romford also entertained the crowds.
