Romford passengers have experienced train delays this evening because of a signal problem at Ilford station.

Due to the fault, which impacted trains from about 5.30pm onwards, train services between London Liverpool Street and Shenfield via Ilford and Romford were being cancelled or delayed for up to 30 minutes at short notice.

At approximately 6.20pm, all of the lines became open out of Ilford, however there are still delays of up to 20 minutes while the service is recovered.

Until further notice, Greater Anglia tickets are valid on C2C routes, some London Underground trains and TFL buses between Liverpool Street and Harold Wood.

Disruption is expected until at least 8.30pm.
