Romford MP Andrew Rosindell marked the re-opening of a charity shop last week.
The parliamentarian cut the tinsel ribbon at the St Francis Hospice store in North Street following a refurbishment.
Manager Kim Babbington said: “The shop was in need of a freshening up. We cater for all ages in this shop with women’s clothing and small items of bric-a-brac our best sellers.”
The refurbishment programme of the Havering-atte-Bower based hospice’s shops is designed to make the stores brighter, more friendly places to buy clothes, furniture, books and more.
In 2011/12 retail contributed more than �400,000 to help pay for the care that is provided free of charge to more than 3,000 local people affected by a life-limiting illness each year.
The North Street store is open Monday to Saturday, 9am-5pm.
