Councillors will vote whether to approve a £2million transformation of the town’s famous market into an “everyday adventure” complete with new trading days and food stalls.

Plans include bringing in 50 new traders in the next four years, “moving and improving” current stalls, holding seasonal and cultural events and creating new market days.

Schemes to build affordable housing and allow existing tenants to purchase their homes will also go before the cabinet members.
