A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a security van.

The 34-year-old from Romford was arrested by officers including specialist firearms officers in Billericay High Street.

The raid took place on Wednesday with reports of two security guards robbed at gunpoint by three men outside Asda in Highfields Road, Witham, Essex.

The suspects got away with a six figure sum of money.
