The NHS trust that runs Queen’s Hospital has said the closure of Rom Valley Way car park will impact patients but insisted it is looking into alternative parking.

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) has confirmed on its website that the car park next to the former Romford Ice Rink will be closed tonight from 7pm.

It said: “We are extremely sorry that this means that patients and visitors will no longer be able to use this car park.

“Please be aware this will mean the multi-story car park will be busier than usual, and allow extra time for your journey.

“There are plenty of car parks in the local area – find out more in Havering’s guide to car parks.

“Please accept our apologies that we could not update you any sooner.

“We are looking into alternative parking provision.”
