Co-operative Funeral Care Romford made a donation of clothes and other essential items to the Broadway Homeless charity earlier this month.
The undertaker on North Street had been inundated with clothes, toiletries, sleeping bags, blankets, towels and other household items donated to them by members of the public after they began collecting.
They decided to have a dedicated drive earlier this year to collect items and pass them on to the charity based in London which helps homeless people rebuild their lives.
Lesley Skelton, funeral arranger at Co-op Funeral Care Romford said: “The general public have been extremely generous and I can’t thank them enough. We do a lot of work for charity and it’s great to be able to collect and donate these items that will make a real difference to peoples lives.”
The items were handed over to the charity at the Co-op Funeral Care office on North Street on April 3.
